
On these long road trips, it’s not uncommon for her to pull dogs and cats from high kill shelters in West Virginia & Kentucky and transport them for adoption through her hometown shelter in Vermont. for various concerts and music festivals. In her personal life, Heidi’s passions are music and travel- which she often combines when traveling the U.S. Heidi’s special interests are shelter medicine, feline medicine & behavior, neonatal intensive care, anesthesia and surgery. Because of her young start in the field, veterinary medicine runs in her veins and she remains just as passionate about the field today as she did years ago. After spending a year in Utah and some time in Massachusetts working in veterinary oncology, her travels have brought her back to the Midwest. Burdened with the ever present sense of wanderlust, Heidi accepted a job in Utah opening a new spay/neuter clinic for Best Friends Animal Society. After attending Bradford’s Vet Tech Institute, she returned home to work for her humane society once again, this time as their Feline Specialist. She is originally from a small resort town in the green mountains of Southern Vermont, where she got her start in veterinary medicine as a teenager at her local humane society. Heidi has been part of the Health & Harmony family since 2013 – initially as an assistant, then as Lead RVT and now as our Practice Manager. Cassandra resides locally and lives with her husband, daughter, Josephine, cat, “Bluebelle,” and dogs, “Willy” and “Stan.” She enjoys spending time traveling, cooking, being active and enjoying the outdoors. She became certified in Low-Stress Handling for patients in 2016. Cassandra enjoys preventive medicine, internal medicine and providing behavioral support. She is very excited to provide exceptional medical care to pets within her local community.ĭr.

Cassandra made her way back to the Columbus area in 2010 and became a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Community Practice Department at The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She started her career in a small animal practice in Bellevue, WA, while helping her husband manage and start two small animal hospitals in the Redmond, WA area. Kevin Cox, moved to the Pacific Northwest and lived in the Seattle area for several years. After graduation, she and her husband, Dr. Molly Cassandra received her undergraduate degree from Miami University of Ohio in Zoology and went on to the College of Veterinary Medicine at The Ohio State University, graduating in 2007. West’s darling 3-year-old son, Michael, romping through her house as if he’d always been there!ĭr. West knows that she has never met a stranger!
